Dr. Ingrid Rockhead is a Math Leader with over 10 years of experience in educational leadership, including five years spent supporting high school mathematics at the district level. She provides tailored professional development and coaching to secondary math teachers, focusing on mathematical practices, grade-level standards, rigor, and data-driven instruction.Originally from Jamaica, Dr. Rockhead moved to the United States in 2005, bringing a diverse background. She has experience as a high school physics teacher, a middle school math and science educator, before transitioning into curriculum leadership.Dr. Rockhead holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics, a Master of Science in Mathematics Education, and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. She is a licensed curriculum specialist, a National Board Certified Teacher in Mathematics, and one of the first NCCAT Secondary Math Learning Leaders. In addition to leading math badge sessions on behalf of NCCAT, she is an active member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCCTM), and the American Statistical Association (ASA).A passionate advocate for inclusive mathematics education, Dr. Rockhead’s work is rooted in the constructivist model, aiming to reshape perceptions of math and ensure that all students feel they belong in math classrooms. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling.
