This session examines the implementation of a data investigation with students using the data investigation process. Participants will get a brief overview of the Catching Fish data investigation which focuses on fitting functions to datasets like linear regression. The presenter will share reflections on implementing Catching Fish with students and on exposing students to bigger, messy data. Participants will be able to walk away with a concrete plan for bringing bigger data into their classroom and engaging their students in the data investigation process. Participants should bring a laptop to fully engage with the content in this session!
