This session will explore how teachers can support student thinking and reasoning by weaving the Standards for Mathematical Practice into instructional practice. Participants will investigate how the SMPs can be leveraged to increase equitable access to high quality math teaching and learning.

Lisa Ashe

Secondary Mathematics Consultant, NC DPI

Lisa Ashe is a Secondary Mathematics Consultant with the NC Department of Public Instruction. Prior to coming to the state department, she has been a high school mathematics teacher, a school-based math instructional facilitator and a PK-12 District Curriculum Specialist.
