This session explores the use of math manipulatives in upper grades 3-5 to support students’ understanding of mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and geometry. This session will explain the benefits of continuing to use manipulatives in the upper elementary classroom. Information on what manipulatives to use and for which mathematical concepts will be discussed with an opportunity for participants to be "students" and use the manipulatives to deepend their understanding of volume, symmetry and equivalent fractions!
